Payment and Ongoing Royalties
| |
We'll establish a basic payment for your article based on the length, type of article and so-forth.
The longer the article, the more complex it is, the higher the initial base payment will be. We'll
pay a minimum of $20.00 per article (script with basic description for example) with many higher
(articles that we may split into multiple postings, for example).
Ongoing Royalties
We'll also pay you again in the second and third month of your article being on the site. These additional
payments are based on a couple of factors.
We'll calculate the number of views for your article in the first 30 days of
publication. Then we'll calculate the number of views in the next 30 days. The resulting percentage
determines your royalty on the article.
For example, if you had 100 views in the first month, and 50 in the second, and you were paid $20 for
the article... You'd receive $20.00 the first month, and 50% of that the second month, or an
additional $10.00.
If your second month views are a higher relative percentage against the first month, you'll receive
an even higher royalty payment (up to a maximum of the original payment amount). This same payment calculation is done in the third month.
We compare the third month views to the first month and the resulting percentage is your payment basis.
So, you could effectively triple your payment (get paid the same three months running) if article
views remain consistent.
You can even link to the article from your site, or other sites that may be interested in your work to
help grow awareness of your article.
What this does is let you participate in the success of your article, and at the same time, you can
build an income stream that can amount to a much more significant income.
In addition, we can provide a free month's membership to any columnist writing at least two published
articles per month. Please write to us (members@OfficeUsers.org) in each month you attain this level to
activate your free month's membership.

By submitting, and by our publishing your article with your consent as outlined herein, you grant OfficeUsers.org and Bits on the Wire, Inc.
worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive rights to use and publish your article by any means in any format or medium. This means that you retain ownership, you grant us the
right to publish it. You can do whatever else you like with the article, you are not granting an EXCLUSIVE right to publish,
PROVIDED you are not participating in our exclusive content program.
You certify, warranty and represent that the articles, scripts or other information you submit to the site is yours, that you are the
sole author of the work and that you have the right to submit that work for publication on this site. Note that you cannot re-use
diagrams, graphics, lengthy examples, code samples, etc. from other people's work. It must be your own work. You further certify that
you have full rights to submit this data for publication and that you have full rights to transfer the right to publish it to
OfficeUsers.org and Bits on the Wire, Inc. You agree that you are not submitting, and may not submit, work not created by you and that the
work you submit is not under other obligations controlling publication of the work, specifically obligations that prevent you from
submitting the content for publication on our site or sites.
You agree not to submit this work for publication on any other site for a period of at least 120 days from the time you submit the work
here at OfficeUsers.org.
This page will contain the program details - please
be sure to check back if questions arise, or contact us at webmaster@OfficeUsers.org for help. We'll be glad to work with you to
explain any details.
We offer standard payment by check. We can also pay by PayPal. If you would like to have your funds wired, we can do this however,
a $20 wire fee per transaction (our actual cost) will be deducted from the total amount due you. If you'd like, we can collect monthly
payments until they reach a $200 threshhold and then pay in a single payment (less the wire fee) to minimize the impact of the fee.
We pay all authors on or about the 15th of the month following publication of your article on the site. We reserve the right to schedule
(and re-schedule) the publication of your article as necessary to support the editorial scheduling needs of the site. Payment is based on
actual and final publication and promotion in the newsletter on the site, not based on submission for publication.
You will know when your article is accepted for publication as you will receive an email assigning the base fee and moving the article
from editorial to scheduling. After it is scheduled, you'll receive an additional email indicating the publication date for the article. This
date, which changes only very, very rarely, is the date that your payment will be based on. If it is necessary to change the date, you will
receive an email with the date change notification.
