Overcoming the Loss of User-Level Security in the New Access Database File Format for Access 2007

 Article Abstract:

(Alan Cossey) Microsoft are making some major changes to Access in version 2007. There are many impressive improvements, but as of mid- June 2006 there is not much information available for the developer community about changes to the way it allows data to be secured in the new type of data store, the new ACE/Access databases, i.e. .accdb files. It has been suggested that you move your data to SQL Server or Sharepoint if you want good security, but for many
systems that just is not possible.
